Freya, the link to Nuclear Princeton about Alaska is broken, apparently Princeton (re)moved that page? Terra Nullis has a lot to answer for.

As always, plenty to come back to here after going headfirst down the first rabbit hole.

There are so many places. The uranium mines on Navajo land, Handford, Marshall Islands.

I was born in Northwestern England while my father was working at Sellafield, billed as an experimental atomic power plant, but actually a plutonium factory. As a one-year-old, my parents took me to the beach at St Bees Head, where the sand was later found to be so radioactive it was illegal to mail it. It's a wonder I don't glow in the dark.

And then we bombed Australia - Emu Field, Maralinga, and the Montebello Islands
