This reminds me of when I went to see The Revenant, a movie I was so eager to see for so many of the reasons you detail when it comes to the pleasures of time traveling in movies ... and the anger I felt that a scene depicting the rape of an Indigenous woman was ADDED to the story as a tool to make the bad guys badder, and the white savior more saviory. I'm just so tired of and disgusted by it. Thank you for the warning about this movie, which I was interested in but had suspicions ... which you have confirmed. Sorry you had to endure it.
