This brought me to tears & I had to subscribe. He looks so regal & yes a wise soul. Not to be melodramatic, but I feel he's a spirit sending you/us a message to take care of this beautiful earth - we really are just wind, here for a moment in time.

O! Thank you so much--and I love to think of the animals we encounter as spirits, as signs of care and connection. I completely agree. 💜

Beautiful, and the moose ... and the photographs!

I've probably said this before even in this space, but in Anishinaabe creation, we believe humans were created from the breath of the Great Mystery being breathed through a shell that contained handfuls of earth from each of the four directions of Mother Earth. So yes, holy breath, holy wind, runs through all of us and makes us related.

It just makes so much more sense than our modern and confused understanding of the world. We are all connected due to the thriving life force we inhabit and we all breathe, take in oxygen and transmute it into energy to survive. So it only makes sense that we are created by holy breath and holy wind. So much more simpler and acceptable than the father creator trope. I love it. Thank you Chris for sharing.

The breath of the Great Mystery is so beautiful--holy breath, holy wind. Thank you for sharing that, I so love hearing of how other traditions make sense of and know the world, what other possibilities it opens up in seeing the world as it really is, not the dross we've been inculcated with for too long. Thank you friend.💜

What a beautiful dreamland, I sincerely could have had an entire conversation with the moose, he seems like the kind of wise soul who knows a thing or two about the mountains and it’s hidden magic, and the ancient gods who protect them. ❄️

thank you friend--yes, I agree. I sat and watched the moose for quite a while yesterday, wishin I could offer him tea or something. They're so beautiful and just rather amazing creatures.

So beautiful all around, Freya, thank you. The moose might have left me wordless! And I thought we had a lot with the permanent herd of deer in the yard ...

The feeling of walking on solid ground again really spoke to me, as my feet also only just found that in many places after a winter that still doesn't want to end; loved the shift you reminded us of, that there is no solid ground (glad the earthquake wasn't stronger!). And "the spiraling whorls of our ears and fingertips are proof of the wind’s presence on our bodies" is such a lovely thought. I'm going to be walking with that.

I love that you too were noticing the feeling of solid ground after the snows of winter. The earthquakes used to scare the heck out of me but I've grown used to them now, as much as one can. We had a huge one four years ago now and after living through that it seems like each one after is a rush of anxiety followed by realizing they're rarely that strong.... it's a weird feeling to be woken by them though, always. I loved learning about the spirals of our fingertips and ears being evidence of the wind--I can't stop thinking about it either. 💜
